I am a neat freak. I want everything clean and in its place. Furthermore, I have the nose of a bloodhound, so I can’t deal with a patina consisting of food, toothpaste, and dirty clothes. Step one to resolving this: the best boxes in the world! A few different companies make “Weather Tight” boxes. They have serious locks and the covers are lined with foam so smells don’t come out and pests don’t come in. For those of you who saw our house reno, you may recall these were used in our “kitchen” on the back porch. Continue reading “Packing Methods, Trial & Error + Smell Mitigation – Jess”

Planning & Building Out the Back – Tony & Jess
While our general concept was relatively the same, we had very different approaches when it came to designing the back of the truck. Jess wanted to do a “trial pack”: pack up what we intended to bring, put it all in the truck, and then determine a buildout that could accommodate everything. Tony was more of the opinion of optimizing storage methods and figuring out the what-goes-where later. Unsurprisingly, we ended up in the middle. Farewell Piggy – Jess
As some of you may know, my car for the past 12 years has been a 2003 GMC Envoy named Piggy. Isn’t she cute? She even supports Bee’s drinking habit. Kidding.

Scope – Tony

We are BIIIIIG planners. We plan every little inch of our lives, and are mostly able to stick to it. If there comes an evening where we don’t have any plans (forget about a blank weekend on the calendar) we end up feeling like we’re on vacation and we watch TV or do something equally lazy. A Year (ish) Long Trip? – Jess

When asked why Tony and I want to go on a year-long trip, I normally try to explain how this adventure was years in the making. Continue reading “A Year (ish) Long Trip? – Jess”
Our Adventure – Jess

As we are about to kick off our (roughly) year-long road trip, Tony and I wanted to document the adventure. We are planning to “hit the bricks” around May 29, 2018 – first stop to be determined. Maybe Fro’s cabin, maybe Fruita, CO, but most likely Jackson & the Tetons. Take a look at our calendar; it provides you an estimate of our arrival and departure dates by location. The timeline is of course estimated and likely to change, but it gives you an idea of what we are planning. If you think there is something we are missing or you want to catch up, please reach out! We would love to see as many friends or family as possible! Thank you for following us!
